As you can imagine this journey has had an emotional component and a physical component. Physically, I feel great currently. Exception: emotionally and mentally draining days have my nights pretty sleepless. In turn, the days turn out to be pretty draining themselves. I have been eating a super low sugar diet, avoiding commercially processed meats, taking lots of vitamins, lots of water, and lots of antioxidant’s. Working with my trainer 2x a week and making my appointments for the Cancer and the wreck. Work as it turns out is a great escape and fortunate to love what I do.
I have had 3 camera’s inspecting my innards, a CT Scan, and a Pet Scan and we have not successfully located the primary source of my cancer. Mary Bird Perkins have been fierce advocates and I have enjoyed working with them. I was scheduled for a surgery to remove my tonsils at another hospital and due to the bureaucracy of it all ( I am being kind here) I walked out of my scheduled appointment. Quite a few sleepless nights after that experience, I asked and received a referral to MD Anderson in Houston from my Dr’s. Next week, I have 2 appointments scheduled to continue the journey in their capable hands. I walk in faith.
I have shared this with a few people…and that is 2020-2021 was really heavy on me. The news, social media, and Covid just wore me down. This experience has completely restored my faith in humanity! Since my diagnosis on 3/10/2022 peoples words, actions, prayers have overwhelmed me. For too long I have been influenced by the negativity in the world. Thanks to everyone who has supported me, reached out, called, texted, emailed ,messaged…I love you all. It helps me more than you know
